I know they were till at least 1973 the last year Eamon de Valera was in power. Mr de Valera was the Irish leader who spoke for the Republic when he offered Nazi Germany his condoloncies after Hitlers death which was a whole 4 months after the world learned of the horrors of auchwitz, and the holocaust .
